New Board Chair of the Sherman Oaks/Encino Chamber of Commerce
ACS Security would like to congratulate Frank Rojas, our Security Consultant with over 12 years of experience, on his recent appointment as the Board Chair of the Sherman Oaks/Encino Chamber of Commerce. We asked him about security concerns in the San Fernando Valley, and how companies can work with their local chambers of commerce to network and promote their businesses.
1. How did you first become involved with the Sherman Oaks/Encino Chamber of Commerce? What is your current role?
I first became involved when it was still the Sherman Oaks Chamber of Commerce. ACS Security has always maintained a strong relationship with the communities we serve, and I’ve participated in a number of local events over the years. Being born and raised in the Valley, I’ve always felt a deep connection to this area, and that connection naturally evolved into greater involvement. I continued to stay active, built lasting relationships, and today, at our Board Installation Mixer at Taisho, I officially step into the role of Board Chair.
2. How has being involved in the Chamber helped your business and community?
Being part of the Chamber has allowed me to build meaningful relationships with local homeowners, business owners, and community leaders. It has strengthened my business by creating trust and visibility, while also giving me a platform to share practical knowledge about safety and protection.
3. What do you think the community is most concerned with when it comes to security in the area?
The business community’s biggest security concerns center around retail smash-and-grabs, break-ins, and ongoing loitering challenges. On the residential side, homeowners are focused on burglary prevention and overall peace of mind. Across the board, there is a desire for proactive solutions rather than reactive ones. That’s why our systems and strategies are now designed to deter activity before it becomes a loss.
4. How can individuals and businesses work best with Chambers of Commerce in their respective areas?
A. The Chamber is a visibility engine, but it rewards participation. Simply joining is a start, but engaging is what creates momentum. Get involved and look for ways to add value to others. Host an event, become a sponsor or join the board. The more you contribute to the ecosystem, the more the community amplifies your efforts in return.
5. What are your top 3 tips for security and safety?
My top three security tips are simple.
1. First, review your system with a professional from time to time to ensure it is aligned with how you actually live or operate your business. At ACS Security, we offer free in-home security evaluations.
2. Invest in outdoor early detection so you know when someone is on your property… before they’ve entered.
3. Think in layers: combine physical deterrents, smart technology, and strong community relationships. That layered approach is how we build lasting safety and a more secure neighborhood.
